The 123/BMW-4-R-V replaces most 4 cylinder distributors for BMW M10 engines as produced between 1963 and 1977. For example the 123/BMW-4-R-V can be used in the 1600, 1602, 1800, 1802, 2000, 2002, 316, 318, 320 and 518 that don't need a trigger pulse for injection.

Features of the 123/BMW-4-R-V electronic ignition

The unit offers 14 different advance-curves, which can be selected by means of a little switch. This is a great feature for easy fine-tuning your engine!

It also offers:
- Vacuum-advance
- Automatic dwell
- Automatic power-cut after 1 second
- Gear shift retard

Please note the following about the 123/BMW

The gear wheel of the BMW 4-R-V ensures that the ignition rotates Clockwise. If you have a newer type M10 engine (e.g. in the BMW E21 after 1978) a gear that turns Counter-Clockwise (CCW) is needed, as well as a distributor to which it fits. You need to transfer this gear wheel from the old ignition and fits on our following distributor: see 123/TUNE+ 4-R-V-BMW CCW.

Please read the installation manual carefully. It contains more information about static timing and the advance-curves, the specifications of the 123-ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure.

Coils and spark plugs

Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in the future. We recommend the High Energy #2020 coil.

Prima product. Aan te bevelen.

Een wereld van verschil ten opzichte van de originele contactpuntjes.
De motor start beter, loop mooier rond en reageert veel sneller op het gaspedaal.
Nog geen ervaring met betrekking tot het benzineverbruik.
Super tevreden mee.
Het is niet de goedkoopste oplossing maar ongetwijfeld de beste.
