123/JAG-6-R-V for Jaguar 6 cylinder (negative ground)
The 123/JAG-6-R-V is designed to improve the performance of the Jaguar 3.4, 3.8 and 4.2 litre, 6 cylinder XK-engines.
The 123/JAG-6-R-V is designed to improve the performance of the Jaguar 3.4, 3.8 and 4.2 litre, 6 cylinder XK-engines. These engines require more degrees advance.
When the maximum specified degrees advance (see last page of the installation manual) is more than you need, our advise is to order the 123-GB-6-R-V.
The unit offers 16 different advance-curves, which can be selected by means of a little switch. This is a great feature for easy fine-tuning your engine!
It also offers:
- Vacuum-advance
- Automatic dwell
- Automatic power-cut after 1 second
- Gear shift retard
Please read the installation manual carefully. It contains more information about static timing and the advance-curves (often found on the last page), the specifications of the 123ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure.
Note: Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in future. We recommend our 123 Red Coil.

Mk 2 340.
This een wat raar vertaalde beschrijving maar hij liep in 1x en hij heeft nog nooit zo snel gelopen na het starten. Tik en lopen in plaats van verzuipen en lopen prutsen om hem aan de loop te krijgen. De curve kan ik niet vinden. Heb hem op de helft gezet en de rest mag de testbank specialist doen samen met de carburateurs. Kortom ding is goed
123 ignition in Jaguar xk150
Snelle levering van de ontsteking en makkelijk te installeren. Na een kwartiertje liep de auto al weer prima en nu in de praktijk experimenteren met de meest passende ontstekingscurve

Just fitted this unit after a few years with starting and especially hot starting issues with a different suppliers electronic distributer.
The difference is remarkable it starts on the button hot or cold and has tons more acceleration, it hastnt missed a beat since fitting this unit, very impressed, by the way it is set to the B advance curve on mine.
123ignition for electronic injection engines
We've used several 123ignition distributors in the past to replace the original points ignition in a couple of customer's Jags (E-Types, MK2s, Xks, XJs etc.). All worked perfectly, but just recently we've had a series 3 XJ6 with L-jetronic fuel injection, where the original CEI distributor had failed and we couldn't find a decent second-hand unit to replace it. Lacking any experience with the 123ignition in cars equipped with injection systems (the L-jetronic is triggered by the ignition signal on the coil negative terminal!), I contacted Leen who was very helpful in discussing this issue with the developer of the 123 units, thus making sure it would work in our customer's series 3 Jag.
I am happy to report that it works perfectly well, so whenever you are having trouble with the ignition system in your fuel injected Jag, go ahead and get yourself one of those trouble-free 123 units!
Btw, we've found ignition curve "D" to work best in the fuel injected XK engine.
goed, maar onduidelijk welke instelling bij welke auto hoort
Ik heb een 123-ignition ingebouwd in mijn jaguar xj 6 serie 2 met een motor van 4.2 liter.
Hij loopt redelijk, maar ik kan nergens vinden welke instelling de juiste is.
Wie kan mij een advies geven om de kwaliteit nog meer te verbeteren.

Very Good Product, simple to install
Not so simple to find the correct settings for advance angles, a model by model recommended setting would help.

Optimal gleichbleibender Zündfunke und guter Leerlauf. Dadurch auch gute Abgase.
Start en draai eigenschappen merkbaar verbeterd
Na een klein installatie probleempje (met ondersteuning van leen opgelost) uitstekend tevreden met de 123 op mijn xj6 serie 1. Het aanslaan van de motor is erg verbeterd en tijdens stationair draaien loopt de motor veel rustiger.
Het klimmen in toeren verloopt soepeler.
Ik heb de 123 samen met een nieuwe "blue coil"bobine geplaatst.
Voor verbruikscijfers moet ik eerst meer kilometers rijden, vind dit overigens niet echt interessant.
