123/MID-4-A-V for MG Midget

The 123/MID-4-A-V ignition has been developed with a side entry distributor cap to prevent blocking of the steering column on in-line A series engines. The distributor can be fitted to any negative ground only (!) A series engine.

The unit offers 16 different advance-curves, which can be selected by means of a little switch. This is a great feature for easy fine-tuning your engine!

It also offers:
- Vacuum-advance
- Automatic dwell
- Automatic power-cut after 1 second
- Gear shift retard

Note: the 123/GB is not equipped with a cog wheel to operate a mechanical tachometer. Check if you need this connection, as the ignition doesn't have one. Therefor, please check the dimensions of your distributor and compare them with the technical drawing below.

Please read the installation manual carefully. It contains more information on the motor- and distributor numbers, static timing and the advance-curves (often found on the last page), the specifications of the 123ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure.

Note: Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in the future. We recommend the 123 Blue Coil.
