I installed a 123 ignition in my 2CV, along with matching spark plug cables, and have been unable to produce sufficient spark from the coil. When I first started the engine after the 123 ignition installation the engine fired on only one cylinder. I verified the installation of the 123 ignition, installed a new black coil, and new spark plugs The valve clearances have all been checked and verified.. The coil shows a primary resistance of 4 ohms, and the secondary resistance to both high tension leads is over a million ohms. I have replaced the coil twice and still get the same high secondary resistance readings. I have actually installed the 123 ignition on another 2CV and had absolutely no problem like this. I am totally baffled by the lack of ignition spark and would welcome any ideas or suggestions on what to check or replace.
Hi there, I have converted but cannot get a spark. Have red as 12v from ignition, high when ignition on, I have 12v on yellow and black all the time. The green light come on as the engine turns. As such I get no spark.. does anyone have any ideas what is wrong. The coil checks out fine, the leads are good and the engine was running before in swapped to the 123 ignition unit?
Hello, is this a new installation? It seems the ignition is not working. We can test it, when the unit is not faulty testing costs are 25 euro, vat excluded. Kind regards, Leen
