NOTE! This 123ignition closely resembles the 123/Renault-Dauphine-4-R-V. Please carefully compare the shaft length (the part that sits in the engine). For the Renault-Dauphine, this length is 39mm; for the Renault-OLD, it is 29mm.

The 123/Renault-OLD-4-R-V is a distributor, specifically targeted for the "Billancourt"-engines as used in Renault 4CV, Renault Dauphine and Ondine, Juvaquatre, Caravelle, Floride, Estafette, Alpine A108 and Renault 3, 4, 5, 6 (please check dimensions).
The 123/Renault-OLD-4-R-V contains all the curves for carbureted-engines as originally specified by Renault. The end-user can select one of 16 different advance-curves by means of a little switch on the side of the distributor-body.

This unit comes with vacuum advance. When you don't need this, you can save yourself some money and choose the version without vacuum, the 123/Renault-OLD-4-R.

Please read the installation manual carefully. It contains more information about static timing and the advance-curves, the specifications of the 123-ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure.

Coil and spark plugs

Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in future. We recommend the 123 Blue Coil.
