I have the 123Tune+ distributor and find it problematic when wanting to connect to it via Bluetooth using my iPhone 13 Pro MAX.

Yesterday I tried in vain multiple times to make the connection, and it was only because I persisted and tried many different methods I was able to connect successfully. However, after achieving success, I later on (several hours later), again tried to connect and no matter what combo method I employed could not get the iPhone connecting to the 123Tune+ distributor again.

This of course poses the issue when wanting to use the 123Tune+ for immobilizing the car when dropping off at the coffee bar, grocery shop, etc, and being unable to connect to the 123Tune+.

So I ask here for people with the 123Tune+ distributor, just what are your methods for making the connection in a consistent manner.

Yesterday these were the steps that gave me the one single success.

    1. On my iPhone I terminated the 123TUNE App (I have the very latest Apple Store download for this App)
    2. On my iPhone I turned Bluetooth (BT) OFF and back ON, and iPhone began it's recovery for BT devices
    3. I launched 123TUNE App on the iPhone
    4. On the iPhone BT connections list the 123Tune+ was discovered
    5. As this was the first time I had a connection, I entered in the default PIN of “1234” for 123Tune+
    6. The iPhone's 123TUNE App showed that the 123TUNE+ was discovered.
    7. On the iPhone I displayed the 123TUNE App's dashboard and the green dot in lower left corner was displaying, and voltage was registering 12+ volts.
    8. I considered this a successful connect.

Now repeating this same set of steps several hours later I was unable to get the iPhone and the 123Tune+ connected.

Thanks for any help in making this connection issue a non problem for me. To be honest, connecting Bluetooth devices can be problematic, but this one has me befuddled.

One last thing... Bluetooth normally has a range of between 30 and 50 feet. From this I'm assuming if car parked and entering say a coffee bar some 100 feet away, I will be unable to use my phone to connect to the car's 123Tune+ distributor. Now this obviously is of no consequence if the purpose is to immobilize the car when leaving it parked. However, when returning and wanting to disable the immobilizer and cannot get the phone and 123Tune+ connected there's a big problem to deal with.

Thanks... I followed your steps and YES, the connection was made, but it still asked for my PIN which I entered and all was good.

So turned off the ignition and the Bluetooth connection dropped.

Withe Bluetooth ON on the iPhone, and the 123TUNE App active on the iPhone, and ignition ON, the connection was made again.

So it seems the ignition MUST BE ON to allow the iPhone and the 123Tune+ to connect. In this state I presume one can enable the Immobilizer, turn off the ignition and walk away from the parked car knowing the car is secured from having its engine started. Upon returning to the car, the ignition MUST BE ON, and then the iPhone and 123Tune+ will again connect and the Immobilizer disabled so that the car engine can be started.

I was unaware that the Ignition has to be ON for the iPhone <--> 123Tune+ to be able to be activated via the Bluetooth.

Do I have the above correct?

    Thanks you for your help.

Yes, indeed. The 123 ignition needs to be on. It usualy is turned on with the key ignition of the car.
